A WORD OF EXPLANATION...
I normally take hundreds of photos during Poole Week, starting with well over 1,000 and then whittling the number down during the editing process.
2017 was different, because I was suffering from what at the time was a mystery affliction. It subsequently turned out to be post-concussive syndrome – most definitely to be avoided if at all possible! Simply walking and talking was hard work, so going out in a small RIB to take photos involved an inordinate amount of effort. I still sent daily reports and images to the media, as had been arranged, but took a very limited number of additional photos and didn't put on the usual slide shows in the evenings. If you saw me staggering around during Poole Week looking like death warmed up, that's what it was all about and why you will only find a handful of shots in this gallery. In that respect it wasn't a great summer, but I'm pleased to say that normal service is now being resumed!
